I am excited to share some news that was announced by the City of Pearland. Memorial Hermann is planning to bring a 64 bed hospital to Pearland. This hospital will be located near Highway 288 near the existing imaging center facility. The new facility will have what they are calling a convenient care facility. This is intended to bring primary physicians and specialties to this new Memorial Hermann campus. At the center of the facility will be a full emergency room with an intensive care unit, operating rooms, a heart cath lab and many other services. Better yet, it is affiliated with the larger Memorial Hermann system meaning that patients requiring a level of care not provided at this smaller facility can be transferred to one of the other Memorial Hermann full-facility hospitals within minutes. Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center and Memorial Hermann Southeast are both close to where this new hospital will be located.

Pearland is currently the 15th fastest growing city in America. Great things are happening here because of the convenient location, excellent school district and range of services. And then there's the food, ah yes, the food! I LOVE Cajun food. So, the crawfish, the real draw, will be cooked to perfection by a caterer called Swamp Shack Catering (from Crazy Alan's Swamp Shack in Kemah, awesome restaurant) and will be sold at $3.50per pound. You can certainly grab a few pounds of the crawfish, but I also HIGHLY recommend something called a Pistolette. If you haven't tasted this yummy cajun treat, you are missing out! This treat starts out as a roll which is then stuffed with cajun yummies such as a crawfish mixture with spices and cheese, ground beef and rice or other spicy mixtures and is then deep-fried to a perfect golden brown. Picture those tasty soft rolls from the cafeteria in school stuffed with cheese and something resembling crawfish etouffe. Okay, I'm drooling already, time to move on!

There will also be a full range of carnival treats including bbq, funnel cakes and tons of other goodies for those of you who aren't fans of cajun food.
